Thoughts
on President Obama
January
20, 2009
Today
was the Inauguration and Obama has become the 44th President of the United States.
It is a sad day for our country if Obama holds to his beliefs and implements
his radical socialism, humanistic idealism, and change for America. Although President Obama speaks of values,
his values are fundamentally different than those held by our forefathers.
Obama wants to increase the size and role of government, which is different
than what our founding fathers desired. They viewed government as a necessary
evil, which would tread on the individual liberties of men if left to grow
excessively. They purposely had few government institutions because they
realized the natural tendency of bureaucracy is to grow uncontrollably. Also,
they feared that the citizens may one day become dependent on government -
hardly would they expect it to include industry and our financial institutions.
The financial crisis only highlights the need to return to sound economic
principles espoused by our Fathers. Small government free from excessive
regulation alleviates the tax burden required by large governments, enabling
industry and commerce to grow and expand. A financial plan that expects
government to print more dollars and to spend more on programs in order to
bring us out of financial crisis is shear lunacy doomed to failure. It will
only prolong the crisis and could lead to a depression on the scale of the
Great Depression. Hopefully, the massive spending proposed by Obama is pure
election hype and not his true beliefs – for the sake of our country.
President Obama has in the past shown a great naïveté
when it comes to foreign policy. His belief that negotiations and diplomacy can
solve our problems with “terrorism” and rogue nations is extremely worrisome.
As he lets up pressure on terrorists and rogue nations, they will regroup and
focus their resources on our homeland. When you consider the magnitude of
destruction that WMDs could cause for America, there cannot be a letup in
national security if our nation is to survive. Taking away our options like
“water-boarding” only moves the time forward in which we are attacked by WMDs
and other massive attacks like 9/11. The national security experts all say “it
is not a matter of ‘if’ we are attacked but ‘when’ we are attacked”. Found within Obama’s liberal thinking is the
humanistic notion that all people are basically good. Our founding fathers held
to the Judeo-Christian values that recognized that mankind is basically evil at
our core. This is why our government was divided into three branches, because
they did not trust one person with too much power. Past experience had proved
over and over in Europe that too much control
would lead to oppression by good men corrupted by power.
As Obama
reaches out to rogue leaders with the belief that all people are basically good
and very much like ourselves, he fails to recognize the evil in the world that
we must confront. If Obama approaches foreign policy like Chamberlain, who
negotiated with Hitler, then our nation will be in serious danger!

Another foreign policy concern is the world-wide
re-alignment that is going on. China
has emerged as the Asian economic powerhouse and they are using this clout
around the world to minimize the United States power and influence. China
is undergoing one of the largest military buildups in world history. It is
implementing asymmetrical warfare against us by focusing unconventional battle
techniques such as spying, Internet hacking, business pressure, and using front
companies to collect military technology. Their black projects include missiles
capable in destroying our satellites, high energy beams capable in knocking out
our advanced electronics and systems, missiles capable to sink our aircraft
carries, and nanotechnology used in spying and capable of decapitating our
military superiority. Included in this
warfare is the alignment of countries against the United
States such as Russia,
Iran, Cuba, Venezuela,
Brazil and North Korea. China has recently conducted joint maneuvers
with Russia
using strategic nuclear bombers in their “fight against terrorism”. Also, Russia
has moved into South America by conducting joint maneuvers with Venezuela. The President, Chavez, stated directly that
the maneuvers were aimed to counter the United States. President Obama seems to have little
understanding of the re-alignment happening in the world and the danger it
poses for the United States.
This is another potential area where Obama could fail miserably.
Our founding fathers also held to the belief that all
people have the right to “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness”. Liberals
like to point out the hypocrisy of our founding fathers who embraced this creed
but at the same time allowed slavery. The election of President Obama in some
measure reflects a fuller embracement of this creed, but ironically Obama is a
strong supporter of abortion. He even
advocated abortion in cases where a failed abortion occurred and the baby was
born alive, when he was a Senator. Again the hypocrisy is astounding and our
crimes against humanity are brazen for all to see. As Lincoln and others saw the civil war as
God’s retribution for slavery, so today we can only wonder what retribution God
has in store for our nation for the death of millions of unborn helpless
babies. President Obama’s choice of judges may bring us closer to God’s
judgment. Another concern is radical judges focused on pushing the homosexual
agenda forcing all people to accept homosexuality as moral and indoctrinating
our children. If Obama supports these judges, it will reflect a departure from
the values and morals that made our country great. As Rome fell into debauchery - it led to the
demise of the empire - so too we may see our demise.
The challenges before our nation are significant.
President Obama is about to take the helm of leadership and move our nation in
a new direction embracing new values which are self-destructive and
fundamentally different from our forefathers. As loyal Americans, we must
resist the changes and fight on to bring our country back to our basic values.
Although the task may seem daunting, we must not give up and remember that we
hold the future of our country in our hand.
Press on for our children depend on it!
